  What is MOBILE MAIL?  
  Mobile Mail is a personal mailbox which follows you everywhere. MOBILE MAIL enables you to quickly read and send private e-mails from your existing e-mail accounts across a range of JAVA™-enabled mobile phones.  
     
     
  Does MOBILE MAIL work on my mobile phone?  
  MOBILE MAIL works on most java-enabled mobile phones. Click here to check if your phone is supported.  
     
     
  Which e-mail providers does MOBILE MAIL support?  
 

MOBILE MAIL supports all e-mail providers with POP3 and IMAP access. Nearly all e-mail providers support at least one of the two standards. In some cases (e.g. Yahoo, Gmail), you need to activate POP3 access. Adjust the respective settings on the website of your e-mail provider.

 
     
     
  How much does MOBILE MAIL cost?  
  MOBILE MAIL is free of charge. However, costs for mobile data transfer may apply depending on your mobile plan. Please contact your mobile network provider for more information about your data transfer costs.  
     
     
  Why is MOBILE MAIL offered for free?  
  The service is free of charge during the beta phase. This phase is used for evaluating detailed user feedbacks and continuously improving the service. We reserve the right to charge for the service or special features in the future.  
     
     
  Do costs apply for data transfer?  
  Yes, costs may apply for data transfer. Please contact your mobile network provider for more information about your data transfer costs. MOBILE MAIL ensures that the amount of data transfer is kept to a minimum.  
     
     
  How much does MOBILE MAIL cost abroad?  
  We recommend not using MOBILE MAIL abroad because even a small amount of data volume can generate significant costs for roaming.  
     
     
  What happens to the mails I've already read on my mobile phone?  
  Your e-mails stay in the inbox of your respective e-mail provider. You can access e-mails and attachments on your computer or laptop at any time.

  How do I get MOBILE MAIL?  
  To sign up for MOBILE MAIL you need an existing e-mail account (eg. GMX, Yahoo, Gmail,...) and MOBILE MAIL on your phone. Click here to download! You will receive a text message containing a download link for MOBILE MAIL. The link allows you to download and install MOBILE MAIL on your mobile phone.  
     
     
  How do I setup MOBILE MAIL on my phone?  
  Your mobile phone will guide you through the setup process automatically. All you need to do is press "yes" or "continue" during the setup process.  
     
     
  Why do I have to give you my mobile number?  
  Your phone number is required to send your phone a text message with a link to the MOBILE MAIL software. The link in the text message lets you download and install the software directly on your phone. MOBILE MAIL does not use your mobile number except in accordance with our Terms of Service.  
     
     
  Why do I have to tell you my e-mail password?  
  MOBILE MAIL automatically fetches your e-mail messages from your e-mail account. To access your e-mail, MOBILE MAIL needs your password. MOBILE MAIL does not use your password except in accordance with our Terms of Service.  
     
     
  Can anyone intercept and read my e-mail during transfer?  
  No. Your e-mail is encrypted through SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to prevent unauthorized access.  
     
     
  How secure are my data?  
  All personal data are stored encrypted in an additionally encrypted database. This database is hosted behind a firewall in a highly secure data center. So all data are very secure.  
     
     
  Will my data be used for other services or handed over to others?  
  NO! The supplier of MOBILE MAIL is Calista, an established provider of mobile community and mail services in Central Europe for more than 10 years. Please have a look at the Calista references page. In the Terms of Use we also explicitly commit ourselves to not hand over personal data to third parties or misuse them.  
     
     
  How do I...  
     
  How do I add a new e-mail account?  
  1. Run MOBILE MAIL on your mobile phone.
2. Select "Settings".
3. Select "E-Mail account" from the menu.
4. Click on "Add account".
 
     
     
  How do I delete an e-mail account?  
  1. Run MOBILE MAIL on your mobile phone.
2. Select "Settings".
3. Select "E-Mail account" from the menu.
4. Select the account you want to delete.
5. Click on "delete account" at the bottom of the page.
 
     
     
  How do I change the password of one of my e-mail accounts?  
  1. Run MOBILE MAIL on your mobile phone.
2. Select "Settings".
3. Select "E-Mail account" from the menu.
4. Select the account you want to edit.
5. Insert the new password and click on "save".
 
     
     
  How do I activate push e-mail on my mobile phone?  
  To enable MOBILE MAIL starting automatically when receiving a new e-mail (="push e-mail") and for enjoying this feature best, you have to do some settings once on your mobile phone (during the BETA phase). You have to "grant some rights" to the MOBILE MAIL application - in the following order:
  1. Application auto-start: highest possible value, ideally "always allowed"
  2. Network access: highest possible value, ideally "always allowed"

    Note: Some mobiles (e.g. Nokia) do not allow to set both values (auto-start and auto-connect) to "always allowed". In that case, please set the value for auto-connect to the next lower available (for Nokia e.g. "ask first time")

After granting the rights in the device menu, please activate push e-mail feature in the MOBILE MAIL application as follows:
  1. Start MOBILE MAIL on your mobile device
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Select "Push" from the menu
  4. Select the account you want to activate for push e-mail
  5. Click button "On" and adapt the delivery times and intervals as desired
  6. Click button "Save"
 
     
     
  How can I send e-mails with attachments?  
  To enable MOBILE MAIL accessing the local file system of your mobile phone for searching files and to avoid annoying confirmation pop-ups you should first grant following right to the MOBILE MAIL application:
  • Read user data: highest possible value, ideally "always allowed"
Here you can see where you can set this on your phone. After that proceed as follows:
  1. Start MOBILE MAIL on your device
  2. Select "Write e-mail"
  3. Click button "Add attachment" at the very bottom
  4. Mark the file types to be searched for and click "Search"
  5. Mark the desired files and click "Attach"
  6. Write your message.
  7. Click "Send"
 
     
     
  Troubleshooting  
     
  I have not received the text message yet. What do I do?  
  You have probably entered a wrong telephone number. You can request another text message here. Or you can download MOBILE MAIL directly by accessing mobilemail.calsita.at/get/ with your mobile browser.  
     
     
  What do I do if I don't have an e-mail address?  
  Get a free e-mail account (e.g. www.yahoo.com, www.gmail.com)  
     
     
  I am having trouble setting up e-mail on my mobile phone.  
  MOBILE MAIL allows you to set up your e-mail account using only your e-mail address and password. In some cases, the configuration process is unable to determine the settings for your e-mail provider and requires additional information to be typed in.  
     
     
  I am having trouble setting up my Gmail account.  
  In order to access your GMAIL account on your mobile phone, you need to activate POP in your Google Mail account. Click here for further instructions.  
     
     
  I can't access my Yahoo and/or Gmail account.  
  You need to activate POP access if you want to access your Yahoo and/or Gmail account via MOBILE MAIL. Adjust the respective settings on the website of your e-mail provider.

Attention: before you can access your e-mails of a "@yahoo.com" address via POP you additionally have to buy the package "Yahoo Mail Plus"!
 
     
     
  I am not getting e-mail on my mobile phone any more. What do I do?  
  If you are not receiving any e-mails on your mobile phone, you should try the following:

  • You may have changed the password for your e-mail address. If so, you must update the password in your MOBILE MAIL settings.
  • The server for your e-mail address is down. For more information, contact your e-mail service provider.
  • There may be a problem with the mobile network.
  • If you access your e-mails with MS Outlook or another e-mail client, make sure that you leave a copy of your e-mail messages on your e-mail server. In MS Outlook this setting is called "Leave a copy of messages on server".
 
     
     
  E-Mail sent via MOBILE MAIL never makes it to the recipient.  
  The recipient's junk e-mail filter, which identifies unwanted messages, may have moved your e-mail into a separate folder. Many e-mail clients provide a whitelist feature which sees to it that your e-mails are not marked as junk in the recipient's inbox.
